| Statement of Faith |
| The Bible |
We believe the Scriptures (containing the Old and New Testaments) were given by inspiration of God, and preserved throughout the ages by God Himself. We believe Genesis to Malachi, Matthew through to Revelation, being the infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice. The authority of the Scriptures rests not upon the Church, but immediately upon God. |
| One GOD |
We believe that there is only one true living God, and that He is infinitely perfect. He is the Creator and Preserver of all things. He possesses all absolute perfections in Himself. He always acts in perfect wisdom, in perfect justice, and in perfect love in all that He does. |
| The Trinity |
We believe that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, of one substance, power and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit undivided in essence, and co-equal in power and glory. The Father is of none, neither begotten nor proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son. |
| The Deity of Christ |
We believe that in the Person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are perfectly united, so that He is indeed fully God and fully man. He is God, generated from eternity from the substance of the Father. He is man, born in time from the substance of His mother. Perfect God, perfect man, subsisting of a rational soul, and human flesh. He is equal to the Father in respect to His Divinity, less than the Father in respect of His humanity. Although He be both God and man, He is not two, but one Christ. God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by Whom all things were made. And for us men, and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the virgin Mary, and was crucified also for us. |
| Sin |
We believe that our first parents (Adam and Eve) were created in a state of innocence, but by their disobedience and rebellion they fell from their original righteousness and communion with God, and so became dead in sin, and wholly defiled in all the faculties of soul and body. In consequence of their fall all mankind have become sinners, totally depraved and degenerate. There being none righteous, all deserve and are justly exposed to the wrath and judgment of God. |
| Salvation |
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ did through His suffering and death make a way for sinful man to be reconciled to God, the innocent bearing the burden of the guilty, the sinless One bearing our sins in His own body at the cross. His blood is the only remedy for man's hopelessness - His resurrection the hope and confidence of our eternal security. |
| Justification |
We believe that a man is justified wholly and utterly by faith in Jesus Christ, and not through or by any other medium or intermediate, neither by works or any human merit or effort. Such faith that brings about peace with God is neither worked up nor generated by man himself, but is the gift of God imparted by the Holy Ghost through the hearing of the Word of God. This faith that justifies presents a man right in the sight of God with no need for an earthly priest or earthly minister. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and He it is that is both our Intercessor, our Great High Priest, and our access into the Father's presence. |
