Every home in a Cheshire town was touched by
the gospel in a recent innovative outreach
campaign. A dedicated group of 7 people from Worldwide
Ministries visited every single home in Nantwich in
a single day.
Then they did it again.. and again.. and again.. ! Ten thousand doors were visited each week for
four weeks. The task was carried out on foot each
Saturday and on the first three visits a mystery
message was posted through each door.
At the same time an intriguing sight appeared in the
town. A huge trailer was driven around the town
each Saturday. Each week the poster on the trailer
was different from the week before. First appearance was just a picture of a red moon.
Over the next few weekends words began to appear
until on the 4th weekend the whole message was
displayed:
' Looking for a Miracle? 2 Pork Chops '
Looking for a Miracle? What did it mean? And
what was all that about pork chops?

People were mystified. Many stopped what they
were doing and just stood and stared. No one
could ignore it. This really was something you
simply could not miss.
What did it all mean? They asked the man who
drove the trailer around all day. But he was just as
much in the dark as they were.
They found the answer on the fourth Saturday.
That day the seven faithful workers again visited
the town's 10,000 homes.
This time they didn't leave a mysterious message
but delivered to every home a sealed envelope
containing the solution to the riddle. Inside each envelope was a free copy of the best
selling book ' 2 Pork Chops ' by John Masters plus
a letter explaining what the campaign was all about
and inviting people to contact Worldwide
Ministries to find out more about God.
It had been a month of hard work, but the footsore
folk who delivered the mail knew it was all worth
while when they saw the phenomenal results of their
labours. |
|
There was a huge response to the message. John
Masters reported time and again as he walked
through the streets of Nantwich people walked up to
him and told him that miracles had happened in their
lives as a result of reading the book.
For many months the campaign remained a major
talking point in the town and people still speak to
John or call out to him in the street telling him how
much they enjoyed the book and asking about
future events.
